Inauguraging

There are cliches aplenty that could be used to describe DC a couple of weekends ago. Packed to the gills. Bursting at the seams. You name it. The Russia House too was heaving but with their enormous martinis it was a good place to start the night. We - the Lipsk, Yarns, Mickey Madds, Arturo, ACS and myself - gathered for White Russians and loud chat. When a few of our party bailed for the big apple we decided to take the next step and cross the street to go to the Royal Palace which, after a bit of investigation among the locals, we discovered was a strip bar. Clearly the yellow awning with those encouraging words "Bar, Food and Fun" was reason enough to lure us in those hallowed doors. Inside the atmosphere was predictably seedy and a couple of girls were on the stages dotted around the room slithering up and down on poles. The real action started soon after we grabbed our beers at the bar when a girl in a trucker hat, shorts and a tank top lept onto the nearest podium and swung around the pole. At first I thought she might have just wandered in off the street as we had but as Enrique Iglesias' Hero started and the clothes were shed to reveal a beer belly and tattoos aplenty I realised that that wasn't the case. As she peeled off her thong dollar bills were stuffed into her garter and she lept off the stage high fiving us as last orders were called. I did some mild dancing myself with ACS which paid off as we stumbled out into the night and a woman stuffed a dollar down my top. Next stop was just upstairs at the Fab Lounge - the night gets a little hazy for me at this point I regret to say but these pictures above show the racy decor of the place. There were definitely women involved and by that I mean trying to get involved particularly with ACS who was obliging them with some good Baltimore girl grinding. The Madds then peeled off to get some sleep for his important appointments the next day and Arturo tried in vain to drag us out the door. Finally the lights came up and we collapsed into a taxi that bore us back to Bridge's (aka the Frat House).

The World Tour Continues.....

Despite my lack of funds and easy NY lifestyle I have found myself traveling around the USA quite a bit in the last few months and so this blog is centered around my ever expanding horizons. And frankly in these uncertain times what better way to spend one's alarmingly increasing spare time than nursing your poison of choice somewhere cheap but definitely not cheerful.

I want to explore the depths of depravity that America and the rest of the world have to offer and I would love suggestions.
